Fire Debris Analysis (1.0 hr)

This presentation provides Fire Scene Investigators, Special Investigators, and Insurance Adjusters with an inside look at how an accredited Forensic Science Testing Laboratory receives, processes, preps, handles, tests and reports samples taken at fire scenes. The collection and handling of physical evidence to ensure proper Chain of Custody and preservation of sample integrity is also covered with as referenced in ASTM E1459 – Standard Guide for Physical Evidence Labeling and Related Documentation.

Identifying the Source (1.0 hr)

This presentation provides Fire Scene Investigators, Special Investigators, and Insurance Adjusters with some inside tips from the Laboratory for identification, collection and handling of Vehicle fuel and lubricant samples to ensure the best information can be gathered and used in determining the relationship between the vehicle and cause of the failure.

Physical Evidence Labeling and Handling (1.0 hr)

This presentation provides Fire Scene Investigators, Special Investigators, and Insurance Adjusters with some inside tips from the Laboratory for identification, collection and handling of physical evidence to ensure proper Chain of Custody and preservation of sample integrity. The course is designed to focus on the topics outlined in ASTM E1459 – Standard Guide for Physical Evidence Labeling and Related Documentation.

**Forensic Evaluation of Vehicle Fuels and Lubricants (1.5 hrs)

This presentation provides Fire Scene Investigators, Special Investigators, and Insurance Adjusters with some inside tips from the Laboratory for identification, collection and handling of Vehicle fuel and lubricant samples to ensure the best information can be gathered and used in determining the relationship between the vehicle and cause of the failure.

**Forensic Evaluation of Vehicle Paint Samples (1.5 hrs)

This presentation provides Fire Scene Investigators, Special Investigators, and Insurance Adjusters with some inside tips from the Laboratory for identification, collection and handling of Vehicle Paint samples to ensure the best information can be gathered and used in determining the cause of the incident or the relationship between the automobile and possible item of impact.

Identifying the Source (2.0 hrs)

This presentation provides Fire Scene Investigators, Special Investigators, and Insurance Adjusters with an overview of the range of loss scenes that may need non-standard investigation techniques and the problem solving process that is used to reach a resolution. Additionally, Attendees will be instructed on proper sampling techniques as well as protocol for sample submission.
